Please get a copy of the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence states in part: "We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights..."
When was I dishonest about myself? Someone on facebook posted this, one of my friends from Marching Band in HS, and I wanted to see what it was cause the title was intriguing. Then the cheesy piano started and I started losing interest, then the Bethlehem started and I tried listening to the lyrics, which started my comment streak. My facebook is not on my youtube profile, nor can anyone jsut look at it, so idk how you would've found it...
Raifujin: Our Constitution does not say anything about God-given rights. it says inalienable rights, and the treaty of tripoli refers to the entire foundation of our nation, not just church and state. Article 11 discusses church and state. Pledge of Allegiance didn't add Under God until 1954, and "In God We trust" was around the same time. We aren't America anymore, we are heading towards a fascist theocracy around Christianity, and everyones ok with this because we're majority Christian.
Hey "vids" raifujin is right about the Treaty of Tripoli -which is a highschool/ college freshman course in PoliSci. I did view your page and was saddened by your view of Christianity. I always enjoy debate -but would rather just become your friend. Sincerely
Well -Vids, It seems that you are being a bit disingenuous here & silly that you are trying to justify spending SOOO much time posting comments on Christian video pages with that story( facebook post/youtube geek) then quoting Treaty of Tripoli Article 11 saying "Ask our foundation." don you realize that anyone can click & see your page?HELLO?Just be HONEST about yourself at least, and i would love to add you as a(facebook) friend -REALLY. I just dont like that you are not honest about yourself.
That's very controversial, because the Treaty of Tripoli refers to the separation of church and state, so that argument is incorrect. The founding document for the U.S. is officially the Constitution, with rights based from the Christian religion as well as directly stated as "God-given." Why does our Pledge of Allegiance have "under God?" Why does our currency have "In God We Trust?" For that matter why does the Supreme Court have Madame Justice holding the "10 commandments"?
The only foolish thing said here is your comment. There is no Christian foundation in this nation. NONE! Don't believe me? Ask our foundation itself by looking up the Treaty of Tripoli Article 11. Says it in black and white, I don't even need to say it to our kids. Take your misinformation on education and throw it in the mix with the Kirk Cameron/Ray Comfort propaganda. Our rights do not come from God, nor do our morals or anything else. Please read into things before you try and be smart.
C'mon "vids" -that is just foolish of you to say there is not a Judeo-Christian foundation underpinning our nation -really foolish. You might get by w/ saying that to kids that dont know any better -but really, save that ignorant foolishness for the playground. Our very rights in the US Constitution come from God. If our rights are not "inalienable" and are not "endowed to us by our Creator" then they are really not ours are they? I recommend remedial History and US Gov course for you.
Also, please do not correlate Atheism and Abortion. My friend who is an atheist is more anti-abortion than some of my Christian friends. The atheists I know are some of the most compassionate people I have ever met and trying to generalize all atheists with your BS propaganda against abortion is very unfair to atheists as a whole. Try and keep this on a logical path please.
