Does anyone have any idea what's going on? This 6.75 HP Briggs engine has about 50 hours on it, and ran like trash even when new. It also spits oil out of the exhuast pipe, oil some also seems to be leaking from the air intake. It's getting worse, and I've done nothing different to it than our Hondas. I'm not saying Briggs is a bad engine, we have other Briggs that run as well as our Hondas, I just don't think they're built as well as Honda is. We must have gotten a defective one this time though, because I've never seen any engine have these problems this soon.
@jeffwins24 it was flooded... took out the spark plug gave it a few pulls then put it back in made it start :D. now the govenor spring is taking a shit on me... oh well got a new 6.5 for my gokart

check that the primer gasket is sealing to the face of the carby. Or the carby bowl gasket (O-ring) is not sealing correctly. This will not prime the bowl and allow the main jet to flood the venturi.
Cheers.

pull the head and check for blown gasket between cylinder and push rod cavity if it is ohv (over head valve). i see a lot of these blow in this area and it will suck oil from this point. i work in a small engine repair shop.

seems to me that the valves are not opening properly, remove head and see. may have heavy carbon built up.
