Anti-Gun Crime (2007) Campaign Commercial

SYNOPSIS: Two rival gangs on the street play with their lives.

ABOUT: My friend Paul wrote this concept in early 2007, I really liked the idea and wanted to do it, so I wrote a screenplay and directed it in late 2007.

I idea behind the commercial was to use it to promote anti-gun crime with a shock tactic and a message. It would have been nice to get it in the cinema or on the television, but ultimately we did not want to make any money, just use it as a show piece for ourselves.

Once the advert was completed; I emailed Trident (the UK governing body for gun and knife crime amongst youths) a couple of times linking them to the video on my website I also emailed a few companies in Soho, London... I received no response from anyone about the advert so regretfully I laid it to rest and chased other work.

About 6 months later channel 4 brought out a campaign called Disarming Britain in partnership with Trident which mirrors some of my imagery and copies the complete concept exactly with a bigger budget.

Mine was completed in November 2007, Channel 4s was released in May 2008. Hard to know if someone directly ripped me off but either way I was pretty pissed off.

the thing is, this isnt anti gun crime....its anti gun altogether. the gun is blamed for so many things, while the people that misuse them are not. notcie how when a man is stabbed or beaten, they don't go into such detail describing the function and features of the weapon but when the Big Bad Gun is involved, people start implying that it shoots others by itself.

Hahahaha funny but stupid. I've never seen a gun kill any one but I've seen a lot of people get shot and there's always a guy pulling the triger! take them away make them worth as much as autos are now 10-13k a fire arm and people will start killing for guns like they are drugs now!

Guns don't kill people, people kill people so if you want to make guns illegal think about this if YOU murder someone with a gun the gun doesn't go to jail you do because you killed the person, even with no guns, A criminale empire would be created for guns just like with drugs. Also notice how cars,fires, even WATER kill people too in your book so if you would like everyday essentials to be illegal screw you.
