A demo of a guitar I built out of bamboo. Just wanted to show what this great guitar can do. Be on the lookout for further videos featuring the Bamboo Deluxe. In this video, I am playing through two Peavey Bandit 65 amps and a Dean Markley Overlord tube distortion pedal.

  • Those are pretty noisy humbuckers....

  • @vantagestudios It's probably that Overlord pedal I'm running through. My house (early 1900s) has really old wiring which I suspect may also introduce some hum. There is a lot of hum in this video, I'll admit.

  • Can you please share your info about where to aquire a slab of bamboo for a similar project? I will not blab, you have my word!

  • @MortandHarley I suppose the cat is out of the bag. I thought I would be the first to make a bamboo guitar, only to find First Act released one just as I finished mine. The bamboo slabs can be found in the cooking section of your favorite department store. Just look for large bamboo cutting boards. Make sure you know what size you'll be making to be sure there is enough there. You should need two cutting boards stacked to create the width of the body, about $40 total.

  • I always wanted to tryout this Pedel, when I saw it in 92, but through an Ibanez EX Guitar with Dimarzio pick ups played through a Marshall it would Rule I bet.

  • It's a great pedal. Depending on which tubes you put in, you can get different sounds. The amp I'm playing through doesn't color the sound too much, so you can get the basic idea of how it sounds. There are a couple of models out there and you can find them on ebay sometimes.

  • @Levibetz Also, sweet sounding guitar! I love alternative material guitars.

  • @thehojos1 Get that checked out. Chances are good your "3rd prong" the ground prong on a power cord is not actually connected to the earth. Go to lowes and buy a ground fault tester and test your grounds.

  • Definitely Overlord.

  • Wow, that's awesome. I was wondering the same thing, actually- where you got the material for this. Any room for one more secret keeper?
