i shot these in the AVCHD Lite format. had to convert the .mts format to .mov in order to edit it in iMovie so i lost a bit of quality in that. however, the original .mts format (and .mov) look fantastic.

also used the newest version of iMovie. really nice improvements.

  • Hi, I have a question! It says water resistance 10 feet which is about 3m... my friend's watch says 40 feet water resistance. but when she go to play water slides and stuff, her watch start to develop mist and it's now spoiled. Will the same thing happen to this camera if i were to put it in fast moving water?

  • @HugeDeek I can't say for sure, but i forgot to rinse saltwater off mine several times and got some rust around the LCD screen. now i get a little water in the camera every time. i can dry it out and it's fine, but it's really annoying. i super glued around the screen but havent tested it since.

  • Very cool. Where is this?

  • @FeelThePunkBlast way out in the hills of jamaica.

  • saltwater ??? proof

  • @SuperComputerGuide not entirely. i'm having a lot of trouble with the salt water having messed up the water seals.

  • i'm not sure if the other comment came through or not. so yeah, i'd say the image quality is probably 7/10 but the video is easily 10/10 (on this size camera). it's really amazing. and the zoom rocker isn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it sounds. cons: the flash is difficult to get right as far as a balanced exposure goes. that's about it.

  • i just can't say enough about the quality of the HD video. 60fps is what quicktime reads it as. the still image quality isnt' as good as the canon, but the wide angle lens really makes a difference. overall i've been quite happy with little brick of a camera :)

  • Very nice job on this edit. I'm going to be buying this camera to do a one off shoot instead of getting renting an expensive housing for my HD camera or buying a cheap housing. I'm really excited about this as a vacation camera and to shoot underwater without all the hoopla of a big housing...

So far how do you like it? And the quality and userability?

Very nice edit and transitions... cheers and thanks for helping me to decide...
