  • @fire112germany the first models of the Il-96 came with Aviadvigatel PS90 engines... then the later models was equipped with Aviadvigatel PS90A1,that is more fuel efficient... A340-300 is getting replaced in many airlines yes,but there will still be ALOT of asian and european airlines that will fly this birds for MANY years to come... they are simply just to reliable and good for many airlines, that they just an get rid of them...

  • @ollo1982 And you are right: The first generation engines and the A343 are also far from perfect in regard to the engines. But if you look at the bigger variants like 345 and 346 there is a big difference. Smaller two engine planes will soon (within a decade) disapear mostly in european and US civil aviation and be replaced by models like B777, A330 and the new models like B787. e.g. Lufthansa has started to get rid of his 343 already.

  • @ollo1982 Look up IL-96M & T. This was a Prjoject with PW-Engines and Rockwell Collins Cockpit (not european but western) The current engines are not fuel efficient enough which is one reason why the bird is not a success. Avionics is more than "make the cockpit english". Four engines is indeed not standard anymore in planes this size. There is a reason whay Airbus abandanoed the A340 program. A380 and 747 are much larger than this class.

  • @fire112germany The Il-96 havent been tried out with European Avionics... it wouldnt be a problem to "make" the cockpit english if they got orders from western airlines.. and the Aviadvigatel PS90A1 is NOT crappy engines.. those engines are reliable, robust and are more fuel efficient than the A340-300's engines.. a four engined plane isnt standard anymore?? what about A380 and 747-400 and 747-8?? and also the A340's in all variants is gonna be in service for many years to come...

  • @lonleyraverx14 So what, there is many times more A340´s and 777´s built than IL-96 and they have hundreds of times more flight hours than IL-96, so ofc they have more accidents too, but both have 0 fatal accidents which makes their record much more amazing than IL-96 with 0 crashes but also very few planes built, and IL-96 is nice plane too, but its safety record isnt any more amazing than others.

  • @Pvjinflight they actuley dont tbh the 777 and a340 have had more acidents

  • @edgarasc1 Because the engines are kind of crappy. They tried to adapt the plane with european avionic and new engines but this joint venture failed. And this plane has the same problem as the A340: Four engines are not the standard any more.

  • @edgarasc1 because boeings are airbuses are more popular, higher quality, and the great majority of worldwide airlines prefer then. if it aint boeing, i aint going!

  • @itsmegp46 what? you didn't write anything...
