  • This is a rather small school and the choir only consists of maybe 60 people so obviously with a larger group it's probably gonna sound a little better... but the point of your comment was what?

  • I hope this doesn't come across as rude, because I'm really just curious about this: why are the girls wearing formal dresses instead of a choir uniform dress? I mean, they look lovely! But is there a reason why they're not wearing the same thing?

beautiful job! One of the most lovely interpretations I've ever heard :-) I did this back in college, and I love this rendition of it... it's one of those pieces you love even more when you sing it :-) Beautiful voices, too, gorgeous blend!

  • thanks.. the dresses go with the concert.. it's the final concert of the year and it pretty much just gives the girls one last time to wear their prom dresses that they paid all that money for... ;o)

  • I sang this song back in high school for all-state chorus, but it wasn't a SATB, it was the TTBB version. One of favorite songs to sing!!!

  • Yeah, I like the SATB but the TTBB is by far my favorite arrangement!

  • I still love any rendition of this song :) This is still my favorite choir song of all time :D

  • @tsukqueen what a douchey comment...put your video up and the people of youtube will judge for themselves...

anyways! you guys have great articulation! sounded and looked fantastic! a little fast for my taste but hey, that's why i'm not your director. this song gives me chills everytime. great job.

  • did this song in middle school..such and epic song. the actual instrumental to it is amazing

  • @torosax I was thinking the same thing... and also... what is meant by "various others"... i don't exactly understand. =P

I love this song... im not one for songs about how much music means to me... or life is nothing without music, but this song always strikes a chord. My High School Concert Choir sings it every year and the alumni come up and join us... its really fun. But the sad thing is (in my case) your choir puts out way more sound than mine... and my choir is twice as large GREAT JOB!!

  • Yeah, kind of.

  • Okay, this is insane. Our Concert Choir did "The Awakening" and "Tres Cantos Nativos Dos Indios Krao" for one of our Choir Concert. Pretty crazy.

  • Wonderful, great interpretation, I also really want to give the accompanist props because there are not many out there that try to portray what the choir is singing with the piano. Perfect interpretation and retention

  • just wanna point out at 2 minutes it sounded like you sand i trimen a tree, just work on pronuncication, other than that i thought it was awsome

  • i sang this at the southeastern jounior districts festival today. but. im probably the only noob to look it up.
