YYZ Bass Cover (With Flair!) [Rush]-LRRG

Geddy Lee's famous bassline to this song off of the Moving Pictures album. Since I'm playing this song for an audition at Berklee School of Music on Thursday, which would be two days from me typing this, I thought that if I'm good enough at playing this to do it in front of a panel I'm good enough to post it on youtube. Using my MIM Jazz Deluxe w/ a newly added Badass II like Geddy uses. And at least I tried on the tapping lol Been playing 1 year 2 months.
Note: My audition was for the Berklee Bass Lines camp to see what group I got in, not to see if I got accepted into their college. Plus, I would probably play something alot harder if it were the real audition :)

Hey man, I just wanna say your really great for only a year and 2 months. What practice techniques do you do? Ive been playing for about a year, but that was before, I just started again. Got a geddy lee jazz bass coming.

thanks for the compliment. When I'm practicing I usually use a metronome or garageband drum loops and improvise over it. Or I'll learn the bass line to a song and solo over that. Repetition is really the key if you want to learn hard parts to songs or a new technique

when do you find out whether you got in or not? Very nice by the way, that's a difficult groove for someone with only a little over a year's experience.

my audition was for the berklee bass lines camp, not to determine whether i attend next semester. but I was invited back for a 5 week camp next summer so that will surely help when I apply

there action is pretty high but if you want a bass with super low action get an Ibanez SR or BTB

I too played this song for an audition, but on the drums and for a local Rock Ensemble.

I didn't, and I thought I played the song rather well even if with a few mistakes.
