John Edwards ended his campaign day in Dubuque on Sunday, Nov. 11 at a fundraiser for 1st District Representative Bruce Braley.
Earlier in the day the 2004 vice-presidential candidate released his "Plan to Build One America," which outlined his comprehensive policy in 80 pages. Download a copy at: (will find link)
He didn't have to do much convincing of the Democratic faithful in attendance on red meat issues, such as redeploying troops out of Iraq and working for universal health care.
Edwards reminded his audience that "We had a Democratic president, a Democratic Senate, and a Democratic House in the early 1990's and the insurance companies, the drug companies and their lobbyists killed universal health care." He further noted that instead of health care legislation and reform, Congress passed a trade agreement, NAFTA, which was, "exactly what the big corporate interests and lobbyists in Washington wanted."
Finally, someone (John Edwards)
with the courage to tell the truth.
