Two weeks ago, we released the "War on Greed Starring Henry Kravis' Homes" and asked you to tell us what *you* would do with one of Kravis' mansions for a day during the holidays.

We received thousands of responses, but Carolyn's idea clearly stood out.

Listen to her story, and tell us what you'd do this holiday season at bravenewfilms.org.

  • Todd you're a dumbass. The federal reserve is what is making the rich richer because those who get their hands on the newly created money first will use it when it is worth the most and as it trickles down into the system those who use it later (the poor) get screwed. I learned this in high school economics lol. How old are you 12?

Thats actually the main reason RP wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve, because it's creating a big cap. PLEASE stop embarrassing yourself.

Instead of whinning about other whinning, why don't you go learn to get a clue first. Then you may continue whinning if you feel you must do so.

  • instead of whining about the rich, why don't you go learn something, you got the world at your fingertips, you have NO excuses WHAT SO EVER.

  • The problem is that CEOs get rewarded on their quarterly profits not their long term contrabutions to the company's long term profits.

  • Hahaha KKR > you. Maybe if your husband wasn't some dipshit who's relying on a company to provide for him you wouldn't have to be such a bitter cunt. Kravis wasn't born into money, he was a pioneer of LBOs... if your husband was a pioneer youd be singing a different tune about the luxuries his job affords you... you embarrassing yourself... along with all these war-on-greed tools...

  • Suppose we didn't tax any kind of income or investment, but taxed spending exponentially. Spend exactly the average amount and you pay no taxes. Spend less than average and your taxes are negative (you get a refund check.) The entire tax burden, plus refunds, would be levied against those spending more than average such that the top few% of spenders would pay roughly 50% of the tax and the bottom few% of the above average spenders would pay 1%.

  • "Can you imagine what laws would support the ethical leadership in company transfers."

Indeed should anyone be allowed to own anything they aren't gong to care for properly? Isn't that what you're asking? Employers are not parents and while I do agree that the wise ones are more fun to work for than the shallow ones, I think the market itself is still the best judge. I'm sure religion started out as a well meaning attempt to make people respect one another more... and look where it's taken us.

  • Thanks for your rational perspectives. Can you imagine what laws would support the ethical leadership in company transfers. Please consider supporting laws that allow men and women to remain employed, its a health issue, its a national security issue, its a spiritual issue. Thanks.

  • i would burn it

  • turnaround investors are terribly unappreciated bunch but they fix companies that golf-playing, dividend-collecting, dough-boy-company heirs leave behind when they are done living their inheiret

  • What suspiciously unnamed company did this woman's husband work for? Odds are the story of 'they fired people' and divested it 'bit by bit' go along with a story of lazy corporate lard that ran this company into the ground before private equity investors saved its drowning carcass from resulting in the loss of *everyone's* jobs at the company.
