I just got these put into my Rocketfire Strat. Fred made these a little hotter...all the pickups are over 7K. They are the best I have ever heard and played hands down! On clean they are very 3-D and SRVish; with the TS-808, again, very SRVish in tone. They also provide great note bloom. String balance is also the best. No thin sounding pups here! You can check these out at www.virtualvintageguitars.com
Thanks Fred for the most representative SRV tones on earth! I will always keep these!

  • @sledge76

Yep! I am going to get me a set of Nick's 60s in my other strat! My SRV strat was really a stressed 62 strat by Nick that I stressed a little more to get the SRV look!

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Thanks Friend. i will get some of Nicks pickups for my other strat! I actually stressed the guitar I ordered from Nick to get the SRV look!

  • dude, you said it right, youve got some vicious tone and licks goin on man.. very nice, just work a little bit on your timing and finishing phrases and youll be gold. i like that you throw a little modern rock licks in there with the purist blues stuff. ive been looking for a leslie 16/ vibratone forever with no luck man, any tips on where to look?

  • Hi Friend,

thanks for the comments. I got the early Fender Vibratone off of ebay! It is from the first batch way back in 1967! Hey, hope to hear from you again! Mike!

  • Which fred stuart pick-ups are those love the tone...killer licks by the way!

  • crazy good. how much does the set cost?

  • how much did these pickups in the video cost?

  • ....i'll stick to my fralin's

  • Very nice playing! and your tone is so great! is the TS808 the only pedal your using? I play a Gibson SG Special through a Fender Hotrod Deville 4x10 and i can never seem to get that old Texas tone. I think your amp is similar to mine. are there any amp setting/pedal tips you can give me to get that southern rock tone?

    rock on man!

  • Dude you suck.

....Just kidding your playing is incredible. Im surprised that pup in the bridge did not spontaneously combust when you started going down on that guitar with those blues solos

  • @AcaIlic Its not that he used 59 pu's. the guitar was a 62 that had 59's in it from day one and no one new why. Not fender, not leo nobody, after examing the guitar and taking it apart, fender said the pu's looked to have the normal amount of winding on them, but yet they did have a higher than usual output. Hence the reason everyone looks for hotter pu's. There has never been another strat that sounded like no. 1. Stevie even said, "the first time he picked it up in 72 he knew it was special.

  • How do you set your Tubescreamer
