Our track system is where we allow the students to specialize in a particular area of sustainability. We do like the students to have our core classes, which brings them the most fundamental knowledge that we want them to all have, and if they want to specialize in an area they can, or just take all of the general courses among their six elective courses. The tracks are Sustainable Agriculture, Fundamentals of Sustainability, Renewable Energy, The Built Environment, and Sustainable Policy. If students want to specialize and get a solid introduction to these areas of specialty, they can. We also have the senior sustainable living project, which is their final requirement for the program.

When students come to our department basically they might have some idea of what sustainability is or what they are particularly interested in. One thing we want to do is give them a broad understanding of the whole field so that they can make an informed choice about what they do when they leave M.U.M. and go into some sustainability career.
