Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I ran at FedEx field back when I had the Maxima in the Summer of 08. 170 cars or so and only 4 runs. My region and those nearby usually have in the 50-70 range, so 5+ runs is the norm. I've seriously considered BSP-prep just for the extra piece of mind mods I can do, but won't go that route unless I'm forced to (*knock on wood*).
Around here, It's the PCA and we replace the M3s with Porsches. ;-) :D

This is on a 2009 wrx with 06/07 4-pots, Hawk HPS pads all around, and SS lines. Stock BMC.
It also has the Grimmspeed BMC brace, but that is loosened up for this vid to show how much the BMC/firewall flexes without the brace.

what car is this from? is the car on or off in this test? Any brake upgrades in place?
Excellent video. I've always wondered how much the MC flexed without the brace. I have one that I may not install since it's not STU-legal.

I'm going to be running SM next year, but even for STU, all you have to do is unscrew the "cap" part that actually contacts the BMC and it should be legal. The rest of the mount just bolts to the side of the suspension tower, and doesn't "brace" anything. Just dead weight if the cap isn't against the BMC. At least by my reading of the rules. It would be hard for anyone to protest it if the cap isn't there....

SM...? Why the drastic jump...?
True. I remember you posting about that on NASIOC. I'd still have to take out my idiotic air pump (thanks, Subaru!) and I know it's a tight fit for a guy like me with large hands.

Mostly so I don't have to run that crappy stock tune. But I'd also like to get an underbrace on there for DD, and that's not STU-legal either. Plus STU in this region is actually faster than SM....there are some big STU guns around here many of whom are national top dogs too....

Almost moot...I haven't run SCCA in a couple seasons. Been running with BMW CCA around here, which has a looser classing system with less mod restrictions than SCCA. Plus membership and event fees are far lower, events are smaller (~100 cars) so everyone gets 5-6 runs, and they run at (mostly) good lots. Plus, nothing better than schooling a bunch of guys in M3s :D
