Each year over 730,000 individuals are released from prison and return to communities across the country. Their ability to remain law abiding citizens is of critical importance to community safety and to reducing the burden of incarceration costs on strapped state budgets. The federal Second Chance Act provides significant funding to support services and programs to encourage successful reentry and sets as a goal, significant reductions in recidivism as a result.
This web cast describes a new resource available for Second Chance Act State Demonstration sites—to assist them in strategic planning regarding more effective offender reentry.
