DC Black Pride showcased a wide variety of talented supporters of the lesbian, gay, bi and transgender community. This was the 20th year for the annual event. Metro Weekly captured many of the participants on video from May 29-30, 2010, including poetry, fashion, and musical performances by a couple of DC's most popular entertainers.
At the Washington Convention Center, singer J Holiday sang live for the crowd at Black Pride. He told Metro Weekly correspondent Ebone Bell, ''My mom is a preacher. So, I grew up with that real religious background. But, it's like, love is love, man. They want to see the show just like everybody else wants to see the show. So, let's go out here, let's have fun, and let's just be a family. We're all from the same city.''
