This is the Zachary Skank Amp, a small but fairly powerful amp with a wonderful organic tone. This is played on a Zachary Z3 guitar - just about the best guitar you can ever get your hands on. See more detailed information at http://www.zacharyguitars.com/Skank.htm
Notes:
* There are NO effects - I am plugged straight into the amp. Recorded with an AEA R84 ribbon mic and AEA ribbon mic preamp into Sonar. I did add some light reverb and compression in Sonar. You can still hear some clipping at points even though I turned down the mic input gain. I may do a video later with some effects just for variety.
* Near the end of the vid I reach back and flip the mood switch on the back of the unit into the 'hi' position.
* The Skank plugged into my Mesa Boogie Rocket 44 speaker, which is a Black Shadow.
* As you can see, my Skank is one of the very first made so the chassis is not silk screened. Even the production Skanks are hand-wired one at a time with no printed circuit board.
*In case its hard to read, the switches from left to right are HIGH/LOW, GAIN, TONE, MASTER VOLUME.
* The amp can get nice saturated tones at lower volumes so its great for home recording, but Ive had it in the practice studio playing with drummers and its definitely loud enough for that. You could easily gig with it at smaller venues.
