Asthma can be trained :) just work hard and you can control it, many great athletes have asthma.

@dwgangsat If I remember correctly, when I went into MEPS they said that if you've ever had asthma your dq'd, thing's might've changed, it's been about 12 yrs ago since I was there. Good luck!

@minirampason ok, cool...hows RASP, is it something i should prepare for before i ship off, or will basic training and infantry school prepare me?...thanks

@dwgangsat Honestly I am not sure,, that is definitely something to ask a recruiter,, even if it is a year, the Army used to be able to waiver certain things with possibly a "go" from a military doctor once you start the enlisting process. So it never hurts to just check with a recruiter on that one.

Well...this guy has been very well trained. He's been very well trained to be effectively USED by the people who pull the strings. He's a useful piece of meat, and he wants to encourage his listeners to learn how to be useful pieces of meat, too.

@minirampason Hey, I plan on enlisting this year as a combat Engineer(Airborne) but the thing is, is that I have a history of asthma...It doesn't bother me anymore, been off my meds for 5-months now. I heard that you have to be off your meds for a year, just to be considered for enlistment...I wanted to know if this is true or not....THANKS
