I was 6 as well. One of my favorite things to do outside of hanging off a horse on the carousel trying to grab a ring to toss (I just wasn't big enough like the older kids to reach them), was to feed garbage into the animal vacuum garbage cans. I remember the giant can of bug spray in a skit under the pavilion. Otherwise I just remember being there with my dad happy as can be...Thanks so much for sharing the film
White Bird Hill is the old road. I went to Expo when I was 6. I remember it too. My dad designed the US Forestry exhibit which still stands today. It's is now a large gezebo with picnic tables and barbecues. I most remember the colorful butterflies which were large location signs throughout Expo. I also remember the ride over the falls. That was neat. Fantastic memories with my family growing up.
I lived there then and was 10. Remember the countdown on the clock tower; thinking "why is that new white tower leaning so much";the guy that rode the falls in a barrel; fireworks every night at 10; the Roto Rooter Good Time Christmas Band; the air bag demo that scared the $#!t out of you because you never knew when the guy would trigger it; President Nixon opening the fair then zipping out of town doing 90; the people mover seats ending up at Schweitzer on chair lift #7; continued....
OMG!!!! I remember being there!! I was 10 and I remember riding the "People Mover". That is what I called it then. The video of it made me feel like I was there, re-living it again. What a wonderful feeling. Thank you, God.
