The Eagles-Journey of the Sorcerer ( Long Version)

my favourite song ever produced --- sit back -chill--enjoy :-) a scaled down version of Journey of the Sorcerer was used as the theme tune to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy If you have time...

This is like hooking my brain up to a fairy cake and seeing my place in the Universe. Only in a good way.

Actually, it was a radio play turned a whole lot of things! Each subtly, or not-so-subtly, different from all the others, perfectly in keeping with the "Whole Sort of General Mish-Mash" theory expressed later in the series. If you liked the book and the movie, I highly recommend the 1981 mini-series. Real hoopy show.

I agree this is a phenomenal piece. The writer and main performer is Bernie Leadon - at the time with The Eagles. Bernie is from Gainesville, FL and plays guitar, banjo, pedal steel, etc. He was a founding member of the Eagles, and survived the road, leaving after "One of These Nights." Bernie was an influence on another G'ville rocker, Tom Petty. It's interesting that the liner notes for this song credit the Royal Martian Orchestra -- high times were enjoyed by all.

Bernie may have influenced Petty but Felder taught him to play. He's also from Gainesville. I may get to meet Felder next month thru a friend of a friend. Check out 'Heaven and Hell' Felder interview on youtube.
