AM06 VNT Prick in an Aston Martin

It's getting to be hard work cycling through London. The sheer effort required to spot and avoid all the hazards, balance one risk against another and then take action to avoid injury is almost overwhelming.
What saved me was the fact that I could hear the Aston Martin accelerating towards the amber light over the noise of the other traffic, this allowed me to roll over the stop line. The car came to a stop with a screech 18 inches behind the line.

You MUST stop behind the white ‘Stop’ line across your side of the road unless the light is green. If the amber light appears you may go on only if you have already crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to stop might cause a collision.
