I was stationed at Beale AFB., California in the mid 1980s. I worked on the SR-71 Blackbird and the U-2/TR-1 Dragon Lady. I worked on the avionic communications equipment along side of other shops. The work was top notch and the personnel were great. I sure miss seeing the Blackbird as she came out of her hangar and flew off into the night with full afterburners on. Enjoy this video clip

  • *****Great video showing the value and importance of ground and other specialty crews involvement as one big team. Genuinely true compared to other units served in. All memories cherished.

  • If i were a multi-billionaire i would buy one Sr-71 just to admire it on my living room!

  • @Aero I used to think so until I saw that tank fuel seal issue. That might have been acceptable during the 60's when fuel was dirt cheap, but not now. I would agree that it represents the best in terms of rapid aeronautical technological advancement. When one considers what was being flown some thirty years previous it's out of this world. All engineering drawings produced on paper. No computer aids just pencil and paper manual drawing instruments and slide rules. That's incredible!

  • Enchanting video. Love the music!

  • Great plane video and very good music, Well done!!

  • Person who dislikes was a MIG 25 pilot.

  • Close relative worked in Skunkworks, many years ago. I still get excited to see pics of this machine.

  • @KIBProductionz Blackbird Sr-71 by me
