Youth Defence Ireland lead an afternoon of Irish pro-life activism in Madrid as part of our Viva La Vida! Festival. More than 100 young pro-life activists took to the streets near a central Madrid abortion clinic, to educate the public on the truth about abortion, to encourage other World youth Day pilgrims on the need for them to become actively involved in the fight against abortion and to witness to the staff and people going into the clinic that day. We were joined by members of Survivors, Live Action and many other young activists from around the globe. Thankfully one young family chose Life for their unborn child after meeting members of the demonstration and seeing the truth about abortion. Viva La Vida!

Youth Defence is Ireland's most active pro-life organisation. Our campaigns reach people on many levels; where they shop, on campus, on the web, in local areas and on the street. We provide real information about abortion and we are not afraid to challenge politicians or upset the consensus. Ireland can be kept abortion-free.

One person can make a difference and that person may be you.

  • @MilitantPeaceist Abortion is sick and disgusting - there aren't any nice pictures of it. Those pictures motivate people to engage in conversation with us and they save lives, many women reconsider having an abortion when they see what it does to the unborn child. I think it takes a lot of courage to hold one of those posters in a public place, and to stand up and expose the injustice and violence that is abortion - it kills 50 million babies evey single year, not many people even know that.

  • this is great! well done to Youth Defence and the other groups xx

  • A private choice? Is killing another human being a private choice? If it is, it shouldn't be. It should be stopped by any one with an interest in human rights. The most important right to guarantee someone is the right to life. No one should "choose" to take another human being's life. Human rights must prevail for all human beings, regardless of a human beings size/age

  • people need to understand that this is someones private choice! not a public choice! learn respect peoples decisions

  • I support this. Appeal to emotion just makes you look like nujobs. :) It also shows anybody who changes their mind about abortion because of appeal to emotion is weak willed.

  • What action can achieve, marvellous work

  • The fact that a child was saved should be welcome to anyone. Well done to all that were there that day

  • just thining about people killing a baby makes me so angry but thin heark broken THIS ARE BABIES not animals they deserve a chaince at life they didnt ask u to have intercorse if u dont want babies GET FIXED or dont have intercorse UGH or give the babie up for adaption to someone who cat have babies

  • @MilitantPeaceist- did you bother to watch the video? pretty sure engaging in conversation is what saved an unborn child's life that day.

  • What a great video! Thank you Youth Defence for sharing the truth of abortion all over the world and for sharing this beautiful story with us. God bless you and your work.

  • @MilitantPeaceist i do not understand your thought processes - it takes a lot of guts to stand out from the crowd, to stand up for what you believe is right

why are you so angry with these people & not angry with the surgeons etc who perform these sick & disgusting 'operations'

it is a brutal horrific procedure - not for the woman, she is under anaesthetic and never has to face the results of her choice i neither judge nor blame her but i do think that it should be truely an informed choice
