  • Bowie's version omits this passage altogether: "I'm not the Queen so there's no need to bow/ [something, something] mink coat/ I'll take your dress and we can [something, something]."

Bowie's version also changes the line "I saw you kneeling at my brother's door" to "You caught me kneeling at your sister's door."

  • @wolzek "I'm not the Queen so there's no need to bow/ I THINK I SEE BENEATH YOUR MAKE UP/ I'll take your dress and we can TRUCK ON OUT"

  • Very cool to see people are still embracing my first single with Metro, all those many moons ago.. Have a new album with my latest band Nuevo - check it out at the nuevomusic website- or join me on facebook, where I'm campaigning to get this album and my Peter Godwin solo work- "Images Of Heaven" and the rest- reissued by Universal. Thanks for following the music everyone, it is so appreciated.. :) ♥

  • @petergodwin13 NIce to meet you Peter, and thank you so much for your message! See you again at your posted links then to discover what your artistic vein we have known and appreciated can still reserve.

    Big hugs,

  • It never fails to amaze me how much great music is relatively unheard. I absolutely love this album and these songs are classics almost no one knows who Metro were. This version blows Bowie's cover out of the water.

  • @JeffELOLynne Metro was a forerunner of the "New Romantic" genre.

  • One of the first "New Romantic" albums.

  • My first love introduced this album to me in 1982. Its pure magic !! I have stolen it before we devorced and now it is in by basement. I have no turntable anymore but its a relict, and may be this girl comes to me in the future and want it back. Never expected to see Peter here after 30 years. I love your new track angels dancing.

  • where i can find the rare videomusic of apparition of the great Duncan Browne at the Top of the pops.I don't know in which year it's appared.....can you help me?.......thanks.....

  • The dummer is Simon Philips of toto. Just bought the vinyl

  • This album was always in the front of my LP-stack (for years 77-82?)... and I also was a fan of Bowies music before that... by then nobody had heard about Metro as far I knew.. then out of the blue Bowie had it covered! What a treat!:)

  • @Bobcat2037

    Kuudoos! I agree !

  • Metro's debut album is nothing short of stellar.

Glam Rock, Prog Rock... these attributes don't fit.

It's a class of its own.

THX a lot for uploading songs by METRO
