  • @jaspar38 Well of course he is singing to a woman - the line "Romeo is calling for Julliet, ready set - lets go" sort of locks it down that he is singing to a woman character and asking for her to marry him' - definitely the character is singing to a woman

  • @BruceWhan Although, if you don't know the story, the name "Sam" is gender ambiguous enough that he could very well be singing to a man.
