You obviously have a grasp of the song. You know how it's supposed to be sung. But what about the emotion? There's no feeling behind the sound--Just technique. Go over the lyrics again. Peppermint Patty is basically spilling her guts to Charlie Brown but she is doing it without "really" telling him. Work that feeling into it and it will improve greatly, I'm sure.
