@asherwade my edition says it's a c too, maybe he was just playing an older publication? my teacher occasionally changes notes in my edition to ones that are more commonly played, maybe that's what he did.

@PDQGorby Very true! With fast-tempoed songs, you can easily breeze through it with really spastic vibrato! Janos doesn't do that, he has great vibrato, so nobody get mad at me. I'm just making a point, and backing this. When you're doing slow songs, you really have to make it interesting. For all the baroque purists that want Bach's pieces to have no vibrato, I fully agree, but I don't get mad at anyone who does. I'm getting a little carried away...

I'm a big Maisky fan but this is probably my favorite Suite 3 Sarabande version.

What does the tempo have to do with the difficulty?
It's an absolute myth that just because something doesn't involve fast fingers, it's easy.
Often times its the exact opposite; you have to figure out something to do with the notes to make it musical!
