This is a very simple tutorial about how to set up TextEdit for programming. TextEdit is the text editor that is built in to Mac. So TextEdit is like notepad for Mac.

If you are wanting to use TextEdit for programming though you have to change a few settings to make it work. Basically TextEdit is set up to rich text by default & you have to change it to plain text.

A lot of people don't know how to do this and get confused when their HTML doesn't work. So this will be very useful for some people.

TextEdit is very useful for practicing programming but I reccomend investing in a proper programming app. For example, Dreamweaver, for serious web programming. So anyway I hope you enjoy this video :D

The music in this video was made by me with royalty free loops on Garageband & the video was recorded and edited in ScreenFlow.

  • @CyberSynQ Yes, I explained that in the description. A lot of people don't realise how to do this so it's useful to some people who don't know.
