***WARNING! PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE BACKED UP ANY IMPORTANT DATA TO REMOVEABLE STORAGE SUCH AS THE SD CARD FIRST. THE VEGA'S INTERNAL STORAGE WILL BE COMPLETELY WIPED IN THIS TUTORIAL. I ALSO TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR VEGA OR YOUR DATA. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED***
In this video I show you how to install VegaComb (3.2) then the HoneyComb 3.2.2 upgrade onto the Advent Vega Tablet PC (highly recommended but optional).
1) Copy the three zip files to a folder on the vega MicroSD (use the USB cable - makes things simpler ;P): a. Plug the cable into the vega and PC b. Press the button to switch USB storage on c. Make a new folder on the memory card and call it 'honeyice' (or whatever you want but it will make things easier when following the tutorial) d. Copy the downloaded VegaComb, VegaComb Update 3 and Honey Ice files into the honeyice folder
2) Update ClockworkMod Recovery the ModdedStock exe: a. Open the ModdedStock exe in 7-Zip b. Rename or delete recovery.img c. Drag in (i.e. copy in) the updated ClockworkMod image d. Rename the updated image to recovery.img
3) Flash ModdedStock: a. Switch the vega off completely b. Press the back button for two seconds, then whilst still holding the back button, press the power for two seconds, then release the power button and keep the back button held for two more seconds c. Run the ModdedStock exe and wait. When it says "Press enter to continue" press enter and switch the vega on
3) Do Data and Cache wipes a. Follow the initial setup wizard again and load the apps drawer b. Run the app called 'Recovery' and wait. If, after 30 seconds, the vega just has a lit black screen, just press and hold the power button for 6 seconds or so until it switches off then switch the vega back on c. Use the volume buttons to scroll down to the data wipe, press power, use the volume buttons to select yes then power button d. Using the same method, do the same for cache
4) Install VegaComb a. Still in ClockworkMod Recovery, select 'Install Zip from SD card' then 'Choose Zip from SD Card' then go down to the 'honeyice' folder and choose 'VegaComb_HC3.2_Build9n.zip' then allow the installation. Now wait (this is the biggest package) b. Back in the Zip File menu, go to, once again, 'Choose Zip from SD Card', head to the 'honeyice' folder and choose 'VegaComb_HC3.2_Build9n_update3.zip'. This install will only take 1-15secs at most
5) Optionally Install the Honey Ice upgrades by heading to 'Choose Zip from SD Card', head to 'honeyice' and choose 'HoneyIce+3.2.7b+RC2.zip'
6) Reboot by pressing the back button a couple of times back to the main ClockworkMod recovery page and then press the power button on the reboot (top) option
7) Theists: Pray. Superstitious ones: Touch some wood. Atheists: Try to stay chilled ;P It should now boot and you now have a rooted 3.2.2 tablet PC for £200 :D

@vuurwerkgangster1997 If you attach the MicroSD to the computer (via the MicroSD=>SD adapter in the box and a card slot) you can right-click on it in Windows and click 'Format'. The default options are fine. Be warned: this will wipe the contents of your MicroSD

@computergeek9658 when you have android 2.2 on your vega, did you have problems then with the wifi or not?
vuurwerkgangster1997 2 days ago
@vuurwerkgangster1997 I can't say for sure because I updated to 3.2 so quickly but when I downgraded back to stock 2.2 I still had the issues

was that wifi problem of your tablet or the vegacomb because my wifi on do it good (viewpad 10s) 2.2 will that work for my device? and are there any special things I should look for?
vuurwerkgangster1997 6 days ago
@vuurwerkgangster1997 I don't believe it was related to Vegacomb or HoneyIce because I downgraded it back to stock and still had the same issue but I can't guarantee that the ROMs don't affect it. The Wi-Fi chip was definitely borked though but whether this was a problem originally or after installing the ROM I can't say for sure. I can't take responsibility if you encounter issues although I'd be more than happy to assist you here
