She hides her pain behind bright smiles, and blue eyes.
Regretting how the last four years flew by.
She walked a course where busy streets were empty,
and the city lights and super stardom became tempting.
A sweet taste pushed her over the edge,
now she's lost in the night life, this is not the right life.
The flowers have a smell thats sour,
and all her strength is no match for the prowlers.
The fear makes her panic and shake, she can't stand all the hate,
and she be damned if this damaged her fate.
Red ribbons cover the floor of apartment 8,
her song plays but the music was a little late.
it doesn't matter (what you say)
and i know that (that you only meant well, of course you did)
it doesn't matter (what you say)
i don't wanna hear (that it's all for the best)
He slowly grabbed the mic and thanked the crowd for comin out,
and then a silence and a fan yelled somethin out.
"I knew you when you were in high school,
you were dating this one girl who went to my school.
You changed man, what the fuck happened?
I remember when you actually loved rapping, you were so happy.
At a party before senior year, you had had a couple beers,
and started spittin off the top, and we couldn't stop the cheers.
So tell me how the fuck you get to here?
So he ducked off the stage, tears pourin out his eyes,
finally someone was pointin out his lies.
it doesn't matter (what you say)
and i know that (that you only meant well, of course you did)
it doesn't matter (what you say)
i don't wanna hear (that it's all for the best)
It kept diggin deeper, and deeper and deeper,
it crept up and left 'em feelin cheaper and cheaper.
Infectious to the touch, the lust made it better,
and the lights eased the pain at least on the exterior.
And its smile kept growin and growin,
at each show although they couldn't let go of the glow.
The fans would rise, and the high would get higher than stars,
plus it could buy 'em some cars.
But even all that couldn't disguise all the scars,
and the locksmith couldn't pry open the bars.
It kept diggin deeper and deeper and deeper,
it crept up and left em feelin cheaper and cheaper
it doesn't matter (what you say)
and i know that (that you only meant well, of course you did)
it doesn't matter (what you say)
i don't wanna hear (that it's all for the best)
not feeling the repeated vocal riff. sounds nice but used too much and gets in the way of the main vocals, which would sound much better if filtered and limited. otherwise decent rap, just need a better audio editor
