Times Up Garden Ride Hoedown 2010

To celebrate Spring and to defend New York's beloved and once again endangered community gardens.
Our bike ride visited
Dias y Flores Community Garden
The Creative Little Garden
Le Petit Versailles Garden
El Jardin Del Paraiso
and 6BC Botanical Garden

We dressed up as our favorite garden vegetables. we brought the noise to ensure these important green patches remain in our concrete jungle.
We got to sing and dance and eat, being
Serenaded by the Rude Mechanical Orchestra

The 2002 deal to save the gardens is coming to an end and the city is dragging its feet. Ten years ago we raised our voices, dressed like tomatoes and sunflowers and fought for the gardens, Today, the precious community assets are once again under threat of development.
