The Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection weaves an exotic web of mystery, intrigue and opulence, inspired by the notoriously bewitching spy of the early 1900's - Mata Hari. Luxuriously and unashamedly dripping with jewels, Mata Hari's outfits were a stark contrast to the military era of the time. She was an icon of her time and continues to fascinate to the present day.

Rich jewel colours including velvety plum, vibrant emerald green and lime highlight a classic palette of soft cream, rose and clay. Fabrics include metallic jersey, stretch leather, angora and sheepskin as well as an array of silks. Embellishments are sumptuous and ornate, tulle dresses are swathed in jewels and exotic butterfly winged dresses shimmer with tiny sequins. The military influence is given a twist with a structured knit and prints include a geometric stripe and an over sized floral "Papillon Print." Draping, soft tailored separates and intricate fabric techniques offer a softer side to the collection suitable for every day wear, while remaining quintessentially Temperley London. Accessories range from clutches encrusted with jewels, designed to sit alongside the glamorous Black label, to finely crafted leather day bags. Leathers include coloured mock croc and metallic python in petrol, burgundy and slate, as well as fine Italian nappa.

Autumn/Winter 2008 encapsulates the decadence, danger and sheer unadulterated luxury of Mata Hari and her era, transforming it into a modern and wearable collection.
