I do not care how many other artist Clive Davis was/is involved with, none sent his star to the top as much as Whitney did. So many talk about what Clive did for Whitney. Often, I reflect on what Whitney did for Clive. Quite often, others sought him out because of his connection to Whitney. He did not make her; he served as a business funnel. His efforts on Whitney's behalf are to be applauded, but she was not a shrinking violet and moved her own agenda, too.
