Yes that looked like blood on the newborn but it appears on the outside of the clear sack. Dogs clean up the birth area by eating it!!

mother animals are amazing. Their instincts are unvbelievable. Tending to each pup , making sure each are breathing and cleaned up, If they were in out in the wild , her instincts would keep the pups safe from preditors.
