  • I learned to crochet when I was around12. (I'm 22 now) But I am having trouble because I was taught in 3 days before a woman left the country, then started to learn out of a book. :/ (not the best help). I figured it would help to start from Squre one. I have been following your videos up to here, but when I am crocheting it always curls! :( Am I doing something wrong?

  • @Caution777 Nothing is wrong. Crochet does curl. To lessen the curl work more loosely or use a larger hook.

  • These are the best crochet tutorials I've found. I just started and I knit. Crochet is a bit harder. I enrolled with a live teacher to get me started and that really helped. The quality of these videos is excellent. I edit for a living and every minute of video is one hour of editing. Making quality video is not easy---at all. Thank you so much for the gift of your talent and the time you spend making these free to the public.

  • @blueberry6910 Thanks for recognizing the work that goes into making these tutorials. I have to admit some of mine are better than others! But that is so for any production. I like to keep the lessons free so that the art of crochet can live on through generations. A few years ago, it was a dying art .

  • Hey, I keep trying this over and over again, but each row I have one less stitch than I started with. Do you know what's wrong? Thanks!

  • @celeferguson1 You must have missed a stitch somewhere. If you are counting the turning chain as a stitch, then when you work back across, you need to work into the top of that chain, but if you are not counting the chain as a stitch do not skip the first stitch and be sure not to work into the turning chain on the end. You will get it right with practice. even experienced crocheters will accidentally skip a stitch once in a while. counting the stitches as you go helps too.

  • thank you so much for the clear instructions! I have so much trouble looking at "how to" books. The way you have placed the camera makes it so easy to follow the stitches. Your explanations are great.
