Push fit fittings can be used on copper pipe, but they often do not look aesthetically appealing. Copper push fit joints look much better for most applications. Brought to you by http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk

  • really? does this work with water and gas pipes?

  • @pitbullnemesis

No, you cannot use them on gas but they are fine for water.

  • Well demonstrated. And you HAVE to be local?? (Lancashire) K

Yes, If you can use a solder joint they are preferred but push fit joints work just fine!

  • and this will hold water and not burst when i turn on the pressure?.

  • Since they have O-rings and are for exposed installations they will not last even slightly as long as a soldered fitting that is pretty much forever.

I'd remove it to be on the safe side.

Some steel wool will clean it off easily.
