Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz, "The Good, The Bad and The Queen" leader) works in his studio (London) with music supervisor David Coulter and French multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Thomas Bloch (ondes Martenot, glassharmonica, cristal Baschet, waterphone...) who he has played as well with Radiohead as with most prestigious classical soloists and orchestras in the world) during the preparation of his first opera : "Monkey: Journey to the West", in April 2007.

The GHOSTBUSTERS soundtrack used this first in 1984. Listen to the opening when Columbia Pictures logo comes up - it's there. Listen when Sigourney Weaver goes into her apartment and the eggs hatch by themselves - it's there. A very haunting instrument. A lot like a theremin.

@figocooldude Yes, I´m sure. Comes always down to the personal taste. But I like him very much. He´s partly very simple, but he has an incredible feeling for orchestration and very subtile orchestral colours. Check out his "Le docteur fabricius", La course de printemp, Les bandar-log ( yes, the ones from thejungle book! ). Heinz Holliger rediscovered him and some very nice recordings on EMI the last 10 years. Enjoy!
