Castlevania: Lament of Innocence on Crazy difficulty.

This time it's the Frost Elemental, dual Doppelgangers, and Joachim, all bosses from the Dark Palace of Waterfalls.

Frost Elemental - this is one of the first bosses I fought on this difficulty. She gave me a hard time. Her shockwave paralyzes, so I block and sidestep afterwards to recover. She always does two slashes, so I sidestep both and counter. For the helicopter attack I try to dodge through so she'll fly past. For her ice beam, it's best to run. Sidestepping leads to getting hit if you try too early. Naturally, Flame Whip is the best here.

Doppelgangers - damn! No cool guy posing on Crazy mode before the fight. Oh well. These guys are surprisingly easy. They try to whip combo, I dodge, they stand still with a big sign over their heads that scream "hit me!" and so I do. It's particularly easy if you can keep both of them on one side. If they try their flaming kick, then it's that much easier to combo one of them before the other catches up. As far as I could tell, no particular whip did any more damage.

Joachim - ouch. You have to hit the floating orbs before you can hurt him. That's the only way to break his sword shield. After that, combo him, and watch the ground. You'll see slits appear under you, and that means those rock swords are about to come from under you, which is why you see me backstepping. Also of note is to watch the magic circle if it appears under you; this means that you're about to get hit with all of his swords, so get ready to sidestep. Fire explosions appear in front of the orbs, so it's best to wait till they disperse before attacking them. Watch out for Joachim, because he's not going to leave you alone. Ice Whip took him out rather fast.

No items used in these battles.

  • Why don't you use subweapons or relics? It takes time to defeat bosses only using the whip.

  • @TrevorBelmont13 Ha, maybe I could give you a serious answer if you'd asked me three years ago. >_>

  • how do you get there.

  • @ZaAmOOnA If you're talking about the Frost Elemental, its in the Dark Palace of Waterfalls. There is a room that looks different than all the others in the stage, with rock floors, and you can fall pretty far down. You have to climb all the way to the top of this room, making a few jumps where you have to catch the railings with your whip. When you get high enough up you'll notice snow on the ground. Wish I could be more descriptive, but its hard to give direction to get there. Good luck.

  • In this game you're invunerable when dodging attacks?

  • Yes, during the dodge animation you're invincible.

  • @TrevorBelmont13 Probably because it was thought to be more fun than simply decimating the enemy quickly with more powerful weapons.
