You'll see the air under my neck disappear after I balance, get my legs together and sink my weigh on my sternum again. Christopher gives verbal coaching to keep extending legs "ahead" of me. "Toward the window!" he'll say. Of course we practice facing East.

  • @gitadji I actually got a neck tweak putting my toes on the floor in the next pose, but I did it for a couple years w/out anything happening. It'll fix itself...

  • @boodiba I hope it fixes fast.I've been doing yoga for 8 years and currently I'm a little out of shape compared to few years ago due to my busy lifestyle :/, but i'm trying to get beck in gear. How long have you been practicing for (how often per week) and how long did it take you to be able to do this pose? It looks really good for the back.

  • @gitadji I've been practicing astanga seriously for about 6.5 years. I was able to kick up into this pose the same day I was given it, but I was on a folded blanket. If you try, it's very important to line top of blanket up with top of sternum. You don't want it under your throat! I've tended to be 5 days a week since finishing 3rd series: one day primary, one day second and three days advanced.

  • @gitadji Right now I'm in Goa, India so my schedule is a bit different. I will try to film and post more when I'm back in NYC. There might be some things here... not sure.

  • @XxDMOx Yes I do that to a certain extent once I'm launched up & balanced. Could be more though I'm sure. Right now I'm with a new teacher and having to earn my 3rd back in the painful pose by pose fashion, which royally sucks if you have to do full 2nd first. I'm up to Viranchy B at the moment.
