Regarding the observation that some parents do reject their child because they are gay, there seems to be an interesting ground for an important neuroscientific question: we notice that religious belief in some poeple is so powerful in some poeple that it can hijack maternal instinct. Some major ""adult-generated" neural plasticity mechanism, induced by relgious indoctrination, needs to be involved here.
