  • My amp just needed a new input jack. The jack felt fine when you plugged in but some internal connections had broken. I'm an experienced amp tech so this repair was no problem for me. If you can solder and have some patients, there isn't anything except the speaker and power transformer that can't be found at your local electronics store for a couple of bucks.

If you're not comfortable working on electronics, please take it to someone who is.

    Good luck.

  • I sold this one for $50. Not bad for a $5 yard sale find that just needed a minor repair. I linked the video to my craigslist ad and it worked really well. I'm kind of surprised more people don't do that. Maybe it's against the rules some how but it worked for me. Good luck with you're sale.

  • I don't know which version of the Rage 158 you have (looks like it's the exact same to me), but my Peavey Rage 158 TransTube Series is a 40-watt. Won't ever die, hope it never does, and has superb tone.
