I saw one of Veolia's new trade rear loaders for the first time around April in 2009, which was a neat Compaction Systems / Volvo. My plan was to catch footage of that truck handling some heavy jobs at some local shopping centres, which I still hadn't done unfortunately. A year later I was biking along Parramatta Rd in Sydney's inner west to see this truck approach and join the heavy morning traffic. Something told me I was going to be lucky so I sped off a little further to get ahead of the truck, hoping he would turn into one of the side streets a little further up the road. He kept moving along and so did I, until he finally took a turn into Balmain Rd. I didn't know how far he was going, so I started pumping the speed, stoked to find him slow down after only a short distance and scream up the driveway of the Norton Plaza loading dock.
After joining all the trucks at the top, I quickly approached the driver and asked about the videoing, to find he was actually one of the blokes who used to work in Warringah during the last Veolia contract... one of the champion drivers who dodged URM. I quickly investigated what he was picking up, and found the bin room in a back corner containing a collection of overloaded 1100L containers. Shortly later a delivery truck cleared the area, allowing the sparkling new Veolia truck to reverse up to the bin room and take care of business.
In this video you get to see a mix of angles showing 1100Ls getting loaded and packed, along with a rough walkaround and a quick look inside the cab - wish I took more time videoing the interior, there was a computer at 5:11 which I would've liked to have explored a little more; probably an electronic version of a runsheet which are becoming common. Thanks a million to the operator, hope you guys enjoy the footage, all ratings and comments would be awesome. I have plenty of other Veolia trade waste videos uploaded including both front loaders and rear loaders. They have some nice trucks and definitely provide a top place to work - Veolia takes care of their trade waste workers.

Yeah wow, a Veolia truck?! Do they have very many commercial routes now? Seems like they got kicked out of a lot of residential business but still doing commercial stops here and there? Or what?
Actually quite a NICE looking rig there, love the clean paint job and the Veolia logo and the wheels, how young is this thing? Interesting chain going across the hopper there.
Congrats on making the vid turn out so well, I'm way into its tremendous sound!! Absolute FAVE!

@Trashman242 They actually kicked themselves out of residential, all they really have left is Ku-Ring-Gai. Now Veolia is focused on their Woodlawn landfill and trade waste (C&I) in Sydney... previously they were small in this sector, but now they are at large and building. It is a nice truck hey - I forgot what he said, but I think it was either 6 months or a year old? That chain's there to stop the lip on the 1100Ls getting screwed when the bin flips into the hopper. Cheers mate =]

Great footage, nice to see Veolia around, best waste company in Australia! For an Isuzu, this truck goes really well and sounds great better than the newer ACCO JP5's. Have you seen any new UrBin's yet? Brisbane has some new FORCE FL's and more on the way!

@macdonaldjohnstonfan I couldn't help but notice this Isuzu does sound very nice, runs very well hey? I've only seen a couple of UrBins around... a mate of mine told me Sita has some FORCE bodies running up there.

good to see Veolia are still around! Nice video!
Do they still have any residential contracts or is it all trade waste now

@crushandburn51 They're basically on their last residential contract now, trade waste is their sole focus when it comes to waste collection these days.
