Baltimore native Kelly Conway (a real "hon" - back before it became a registered trademark) is featured partaking in an early Hampden Honfest contest as "Stella Gambino" in this segment shot in Baltimore for the 2001 documentary PEOPLE LIKE US: SOCIAL CLASS IN AMERICA by Louis Alvarez and Andy Kolker. Kelly has also appeared on TV (THE CORNER, ATOMIC TV and WJZ-TV's "SOAPDISH"), as well as in films by Todd Rohal and Josh Slates. Why she's never appeared in a John Waters film remains a mystery; after all, she's a Dreamland natural.
Also featured are some suburban yuppies "slumming it" in dive bars with blue-collar locals for their own amusement while exhibiting faux camaraderie and self-congratulatory smugness.
You're slapping the original Hampdenites in the face with this shit. All grad school means is DEBT. It's way overrated.
