Gender Pay Gap? Equal Pay for Different Jobs of 'the Same Value'

The British Government has introduced an equality bill which would force businesses with over 250 employees to publish their pay rates to discover if their is a gender pay gap. This would allow women doing one type of work to compare her pay with a man doing something entirely different and demand compensation.

Women are paid less for numerous reasons that have zero to do with sexism. Even in the same position men work more hrs per week. Men take far less sick time and vacation time. Women tend to be less aggressive when negociating a salary.That is why they pay more for cars (do u really think the salesman doesnt want every last penny of the mans too?!). The list of reasons goes on and on but the liberal media will continue to ignore the facts and project sexism into the picture. Think people, think.

the simple fact is that innovation and progress over thousands of years has been driven by men, with women riding along on our coat-tails. men create value with ingenuity and hard work, and are compensated accordingly. women create value with their vaginas.

If women want the same pay as men, they must work as much as men, put in same no of overtime, take as less vacation time,medical leaves, as well as paying for maintainence for children when a divorce occurs.

@jtimleck A large chunk of women's sick time is not taken for themselves. Rather, women use sick time to manage various family responsibilities: staying home with sick children, attending field trips, caring for elderly relatives, maintaining the home, assisting handicapped family members with activities of daily living, etc. Because women assume the majority of responsibility for these critically important psychosocial functions, men are enabled to attend work and need not use sick time.

However, compared to men, women perform far more hours of unpaid labour (e.g., parenting, domestic tasks). Staggering amounts of unpaid work are performed by women in addition to their substantial (i.e., only slightly less than men's) contribution to the paid labour force. Also, women workers are less likely than men to be rewarded for 'aggressive' wage negotiation.

Companies are not hiring men for fun. Men simply do more work and are more reliable. Otherwise, these is no reason to hire men for a higher rate if women are able to do the job at the lower rate. The result would be a workforce of only women.
