Yukiko Takami of Japan prevails over her fellow team-mate Sachie Shojima in the finals of the 14th World Kendo Championship Women's Individual Championship. Her one men-strike in the middle of the regular time match secured her victory.

  • @DarkAngelFromMoon it's called kiai..is showing your spirit..while training kendo sempais and senseis always say to you to do kiai..also it helps you to intimidate your opponent and give your self strength

  • @DarkAngelFromMoon It's to show the spirit, and to make the opponent feel the four illnesses of kendo.

  • A really find it an impressiv match, i love kendo, but why do they scream like that?

  • And some of the Shojima's strikes are good but not counted/accepted (confer: 2min38)... :-(

  • The first ippon of Takami... is on the shinaï, not the head.

  • it´s amazing how loud those fumikomi were live. the video is great, but it just can´t show the intensity of the ashisabaki of these girls.
