@ericjaynelson I would love to go back to colonial times of bartering for other products &services but we're not in those times anymore. I'm afraid if I laid a coupon for "I'll vacuum the church 2 Sundays" in the offering plate, they couldn't pass on a "i'll clean the electric company building 2 Mondays" coupon to suffice the debt. I'm just trying to be logical. I've seen the good works that churches can do with the money (10% tithe) I give and believe me, it is NOT satanic. Love of money is.

@ericjaynelson I'm paid in American dollars. That is what the church pays their bills with here. I'm not going to go to the store, buy something, then give it in the offering plate and put another task on their shoulders to sell the item...for money...to help people. Eliminate the middle man, release your clenched fist from the money and drop it in the plate. It's not ours to keep. My house would be empty if I tithed with only objects instead of money!

@ericjaynelson I'm going to do my part--no, my Christian duty, to support the church in the best way that I financially can and that is fast-cash. I sure hope that I don't see the day where people are throwing anything and everything into the church other than cash, just so Someone else can TRY to sell it. Maybe back in the day clothes and food off your shelf at home was sufficient to give out. My church goes worldwide to serve people in Jesus' name. Can't buy tickets with boats/diamonds.

@okfogle20: Actually under the new testament covenant little things done with a pure heart like helping a youth with homework will take care of the bills because anything we do to the least among us we are doing it to Christ Himself. Therefore if we need financial blessing His Spirit will see to it that we get it. When churches sell cars boats refrigerators diamonds, etc... on places like U PILLAR (free of charge) they can actually bring in more money. So YES the bills can be paid!

@okfogle20: Tithing money is NOT a biblical principle. When churches teach that you are robbing God by not tithing they are teaching a false (satanic) doctrine. When there is unity in the Spirit no church need not worry about not having enough money. Why would a Spirit filled church want to utilize a false doctrine in the first place? Why not just stick to giving under the New Testament covenant?

@ericjaynelson I'm not saying you are wrong about all of those great offerings. I am 100% for giving of all blessings. That includes the blessing of a paycheck! If satan has anything to do with money it is keeping it AWAY from the bride of Christ. Again, I'm not saying God said, "Give 10% of thy income to thy church." He DID say help the least of these. Yes, I could grab all the food off my shelf but more appropriately churches have funds to go buy food and clothes and build shelters via tithes.
Thanks for you comments. You know your are right about giving. We all can give something to help in building the kingdom of God and helping others. Remember the widow mentioned in Mar 12:42-44 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. Calling His disciples to Him,

He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on." God was pleased with her sacrifice!
