Time stands motionless on the Annapurna mountains of Nepal. Industry and technology are yet unborn in these remote villages that remain unscarred to this day. The rugged harmony of this life ferments a freedom from ambiguity. Humanity is 'carved open' here, and the transparent simplicity of both photographer and subject, exposed.
Watch photographer Rui Lopes discuss his experiences in Tibet and Nepal, and if you are in Toronto, come to see an exhibit of his fine art photography at 2100 Bloor St. West (System Fitness), every day between October 27th and November 30th, 2007, from 9am to 7pm.
