The Avengers - Teaser Trailer #1 (Captain America post-credit scene)

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It was announced in April 2005 and is based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that crosses over several Marvel superhero films including Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans. The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012, in 3D. Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America to fight an enemy threatening the world with destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of actors Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release.

@kingof706 This movie is probably gonna kill a lot of movies throughout from the rest of now, a bit of before (2011), and in 2012. I don't how The Dark Knight Rises may turn out though. The trailer for it looks excellent, so it's tricky to know if this film will probably kill TDKR, or they'll be considered equally good. Which I think might happen since The Dark Knight was a cinematic sensation of 2008.

This movie is gonna shatter the records that Avatar and the Harry Potter Series did.....this is gonna be epic. An all star cast who all had individual movies that had incredible reviews and box offices hits bringing to life a comic book classic, combined into one movie....I predicts 3.4 billion in the box office by the end of 2012,,,,
