I created what I call a SUPER moisturizer for my type (4a/4b) hair because I couldn't find anything on YouTube that really addressed my specific hair type. Not that someone should (lol), it's just that I saw a lot of good videos but the technique or product would not or did not work on my type hair.
My hair is different from month 1 and it requires more moisture and TLC, so I went in the kitchen and started blendin'! The end product is WONDERFUL! Yeah ME!

  • Where do you store this mixture? How long will it stay fresh?

  • @kashaiya213 - I keep it in a cool place...not necessarily in the fridge but you can do that as well. I tend to make as much as I know I'll use, so I have no idea what the real "shelf life" is.

  • Does the rose water separate from the shea butter??

  • @lahana24 - It depends on the order in which you add the ingredients. Since this video was impromptu, no measurements were taken.

  • Wonder if there is something like this for 3a hair..

  • @MyXdChiick - I'm sure it would depend on how much of each ingredient you placed in the mixture. For 3a, I'd probably add more lotion and less shea butter. It's all trial and error anyway...when you're looking for the right product for your hair type. Good luck!

  • I have really dry 4b hair and I live in Canada so the cold climate makes my hair even more dry and brittle. I decided to make my own mix one day and ended up with something like what you have except I used Giovanni direct leave in as my cream instead of your papaya lotion and I also didn't have any rose water but I added rosemary oil and tea tree oil. Honestly, nothing has ever made my hair feel so soft.

  • How much of each ingredient do you use?

  • @youngmumma When you say spots are you saying bald spots? The glycerin did that? I was thinking about trying it but thats crazy.

  • I think this video was helpful and informative all except it wasn't explained how much of each product to use. Thanks for the tip nonetheless :)).

  • Can we see your hair to see how well it works or some one with the same hair type that used your home made regimen.

  • hey, umm is that a food processor that u used to blend the products together?

  • @MzTeaCake - I made this lotion, but I used the aloe juice and it separated from the mixture. Have you ever used an emulsifyer or emulsifying wax to bind it together, if not how do you stop if from separating?
