There was a huge snowstorm in New York City on February 26, 2010. I took the day off from work and used the opportunity to catch up on sleep and to play some Donkey Kong. You probably know the rest of the story.

  • I've finally gotten up to 727,600 points and died at level 18-6, I'm still working on getting a kill screen, I'll get there one day

  • @AlMcGlothlen Wow, that's a solid score and a solid pace. You'll be killscreening in no time.

  • Nobody does DK better... I've learned a lot just watching you play. One thing I happened onto which I'm sure you already have explored--left cage jumping as a means of arranging fireballs on the rivet levels. The value seems to be gaining points instead of waiting and obtaining favorable fireball locations. I'm curious about your thoughts. You can go to my channel and watch it in action, but there's a lot more to it at the higher levels.

  • @Papatendo I do the left cage jump mainly for the opposite reason--- to obtain favorable fireball positions. Obviously while you're waiting you might as well get some points by doing the cage jumping. Doing this too much is a bit risky since occasionally you'll get a fireball running up the left side. Also I find once a fireball reaches the top level, it's not likely you'll be able to smash it with the first hammer. You dodged this issue by clearing the bottom right rivets to lure the

  • @Papatendo the fireballs down, but that wastes time running back and forth (remember each second is worth over 100 points on this board if you leech points). Anyhow I encourage you to experiment around and see what works for you. All the top DK players have very different styles yet they all work for us.

    One day

  • @hank804 Thanks for that thoughtful reply! I realized with all the very sharp people who've analyzed DK endlessly that there can't be anything new out there. You really have to be alert to any fireballs coming up the left side to avoid entrapment. I've had some 12,000+ point rivets and I can almost always run the bonus meter down to 000 finishing with right side jumping. Unforced errors are my issue now--luckily I'm not a surgeon. "Oops!"

  • @ForemanVsLyle that's strange. i didn't forbid anyone from watching this video on an iPhone. I'm not sure how to change that. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos!
