  • @auburntigers - Really a bad guess on your part. CCA had the #45 overall pick in the 2010 MLB draft. His team mate pitched in the NCAA Regionals last year as a freshman. All 6 seniors from last year's class are playing college ball. The starting catcher is skipping his senior year to play for UF this coming spring after passing on Auburn two years ago.

  • I like this kid. Fielding wise hes got good foot work, and soft hands. Looks very fundamentally sound with the glove. My one gripe is throwing is all sidearm. I don't know if that's out of laziness, or if its just him trying to get the ball out of the glove and thrown quickly, but id like to see him take the time to throw the ball over the top and follow through. Hitting wise, too much goin on. start with the arm back . and definitly bulk up kid. Very good overall

  • The bat is too heavy for you. You're nearly eliminating all of your power. Swing a lighter bat and it shall increase your bat speed significantly. Keep it up kid. Persistency always wins in the end.

  • @justinmoe7 definitely agree with moe. if your front foot stays completely on the ground throughout your finish, your not exploding enough. Unless your chase utley. Think Jim Thome. Unfortunately in todays game base hits dont stick out, bat speed however does. Your leverage is good, especially for your size, but there needs to be intent in your swing

  • Looks good around second base. Very athletic. Swing need a lot of work. There is no ferocity. You need to use your lower half and get some effort into the swing. It looks like you are doing nothing but turning your body. You need explosion when you hit...

  • I played against him...I/m a pitcher from North Broward Preparatory School...He hit a double off the fence off me

  • (Noahmcdx) when coaches say knob to the ball and stay inside of the pitch it makes you not roll-over to early and to not get around on the ball...and that makes all the difference because that could be the difference between a little grounder to the second baseman or a hit in the gap

  • @mpballa7 he neeeds to have lateral movement too

  • I'd get your hands a little closer to your ear also, so you can have a more bent front arm. You maintain the angle well, but it's so straight that your not using it to rotate. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I wouldn't be surprised, your probably just a kid with a good swing because he's talented, but to understand what I'm talking about with angles and what not, I'd go watch MrBatSpeed's youtube videos or go to batspeed . com.

  • You've got a great swing for a freshman, but only thing I'd say to you is to bend your knees a tick more and try keep a more bent back knee throughout your swing. Don't listen to coaches who tell you knob of the bat or hands inside the ball or that shit. It's not right, and if your highschool coaches tell you it, just say okay, and go back to your old way.

    I'd also get your

  • @BiiiqBooiiiTV Funny. You don't know shit about hitting do you? What's your philosophy? Knob of the bat to the ball? Extension? Push? Hands inside the ball? Any other stupid cliches coaches use to ruin swings? Most likely, this kid hasn't been told too much of that, and instead he just hit, hit, and hit. He's got a GOOD swing, and for a freshman, it's great. He maintains angles, rotates, and keeps his head still. That's an oddity among kids his age. He'll REALLY hit when he's older.

  • @mpballa7 If you can't throw from every arm slot, you CANNOT play middle infield. I'd rather see a kid who always throws sidearm in the middle infield than always over the top. Kids who throw over the top are not athletic enough to make different plays at 2B/SS.

hitting wise, he has a better swing than most sophomores your gonna see. He maintains angles better than most sophomores, and doesn't move his head. This kids going to be good, & believe it or not, he'll be a prospect with the bat.
